Meet
the LOH Ladies
Name:
Tina “YICky” Anthony (Guess I should explain the nickname, the YIC stands
for Yes I Can ride. Since I didn’t want to just be called YIC we came up
with YICky)
Birthplace: Philadelphia, PA
Career: I am a Resource Specialist for Protiviti. We are an
Audit and Risk Management Firm. I work in the Operations and HR department.
Goal in 2007: To get as many as my girlfriends to start riding
their OWN bikes.
HOG/LOH Member: Yes
How many years: 2.5 years
How I got interested in motorcycling: I rode quads and 3
wheelers in high school and then when I met my husband Tom, we also started
riding dirt bikes. From there I just progressed into street bikes. I tried
to find a comfortable street bike for me years ago but never found anything
and was content for “awhile” to ride behind Tom. Then I got the itch again
to get my own and the rest, as they say, is history.
Favorite ride: I would say I have to agree with just about everyone
else who has filled out one of these questionnaires, that I don’t have a
favorite ride yet. I just love any day that I can get out on my own bike and
ride or ride with Tom. I just love the freedom I feel when I ride.
Likes/Dislikes: When I am not riding (which is almost every
weekend), I like to read and I also enjoy cooking for my family. My dislikes
are rude people and people who are mean to animals.

Name:
Celia Barnes
Birthplace: Sparta, Wisconsin – a small town far, far away.
Yes I too am a Cheese Head.
Career: My husband Mike and I have worked together in the
income tax business for more years than I can or care to admit. We sold our
business in 2006 so I guess that makes me either “unemployed or retired”
depending on your point of view with more time for riding.
Goal in 2007: To put at least twice the miles on my bike that
I did last year.
HOG/LOH Member: Yes
How many years: 2
How I got interested in motorcycling: I’ve always enjoyed
being a passenger on Mike’s bike. We had a mini bike as kids, but after my
sister’s accident we both stopped riding for many years. She started up a
couple years ago and last year I decided it was time to get back in the
saddle.
Favorite Ride: Every one that I go on. Arizona has so many
great rides and I still have many to ride. I’ll wait till we’ve done them
all to choose.
Like/Dislikes: I like to travel, ride whenever we can, cook
and someday I’ll start that family genealogy, and resume sewing and
knitting. We love spending time with our kids and grandkids and all the
great people we’ve met through HOG and riding along the way. My dislikes are
few with the exception being anchovies.

Name:
Victoria a.k.a. Tori Wolf
Birthplace: Milwaukee, Wisconsin and yes, I am a Cheese Head!
Career: Senior Travel Consultant and Licensed Massage
Therapist
Goal in 2007: Get a bike that will be comfortable for long
road trips
HOG/LOH Member: Yes and Yes
How many years: 1
How I got interested in motorcycling: It’s hard to live in
Harley Davidson’s home town and not be interested in motorcycles. My sister
and I had a mini-bike in grade school, and some of my Dad’s friends rode
with Hell’s Angels. I had always seen groups of of people riding together
and thought that’s what I want to do when I grow up.
Favorite ride: All of my rides. I’ve only been in Arizona four
years, so just about everywhere I go is new for me. Even if I go to the same
place twice, I see something totally different each time!
Likes/Dislikes: I like to travel, golfing, cycling, water
skiing, snow skiing, photography, ballroom dancing, movies or just hanging
out with friends. I dislike rude people.

Danielle
Martinico - March 2006
Birth place: Montreal, Canada
Career: Homemaker. Previously owned 2 Cold Stone Creamery’s in
northern California.
Goals: Stay cool, do lots of riding (once the weather cools
down) and experience all Arizona has to offer.
Interest in bikes: I have been interested in motorcycles
since I was seven years old. My neighbors, at the time, had dirt bikes and I
wanted to ride one sooooo bad but my mom didn’t think it was appropriate for
a girl. As I got older I never lost my desire to ride and the timing was
never right to learn. Then about 5 years ago a good friend of ours offered
to teach my daughter and 3 of her girlfriends to ride dirt bikes and
suggested I join them too. That was all it took. Shortly after that I got
tired of staring at the back of my husband’s helmet and got my own bike. My
Delux is my third bike and I ride more than my husband does.
Hog Member: Yes.
Favorite ride: Well haven’t been on any in AZ yet so I will
have to say riding in the Sierra Mountains in northern CA.
Interesting about me: We had a lot of changes in our lives in
the last year. We sold 2 stores, my husband sold his business, a dental lab,
(we lost a lot of money in all the sales), sold our house in the northern
California area, moved twice and bought a house in Chandler. My 18 year old
daughter moved into an apartment the day after she graduated high school and
chose to not move with us. This was very difficult but she is now learning
about life first hand. I hope to be able to slow down and enjoy life a
little bit more. I like to cook, bake and eat but most of all I love to ride
my Harley!!!

Yvette
Louchery - February 2006
I was born
June 18 1964. My father was a Machinist and my mother was a Switchboard
Operator. My brother and I were raised in a modest sized ranch-style house
in the San Francisco Bay Area.
In the summer, we enjoyed vacations in the Sierra Mountains of California
where my parents owned a cabin. It was there that I rode my first motorcycle
at the age of 12. It was a street legal Honda 80. I would ride it on the
streets around town and on the dirt fire trails in the surrounding National
Forest. It was a blast!
Ever since I can remember, I have always liked Harley’s and Harley people. I
can still remember the REAL ‘70’s choppers and I’m not talking about this
OCC stuff. I saw Easy Rider when I was 9 or 10 and I was blown away by the
Captain America bike! It was absolutely the coolest thing I had ever seen!
By the age of 16, my bedroom was filled with Harley-Davidson memorabilia. It
was then that I knew I was destined one day to own my own Harley.
Then as most women do, I started a family and a career and put my first love
on the back burner. I proceeded to raise a beautiful daughter and pursue my
career in Database Administration.
As I reached my late twenties, I revisited the thought of owning a Harley.
Back then, women riders were few and far between…men actually believed that
we belonged on the back! People were advising me at that time that I should
ride an import bike first, so that I could learn how to “handle” a Harley. I
wasn’t going to buy into that advice.
In 1999, my Daughter and I moved to Arizona so that we could afford a house
and also so that she could obtain a better education.
After I found a job in Scottsdale, I would sometimes stop by Hacienda Harley
at lunch to drool over the new bikes. I started thinking it might be time to
get my bike. I found a blue Sporty (my favorite color) and I was just about
ready to lay my money down when my car quit on me. Needless to say my funds
went to getting a new car. My dream would have to wait again.
In 2003, I met the love of my life, Ron. A few nights after meeting, he
asked me if I would like to go for a ride on his “Scooter” and of course I
responded with, “Hell yeah!”
The moment I threw my leg over the seat and wrapped my arms around him, I
knew that this was it for me. I had to have him and my own bike!
I shared my dream of always wanting a Sportster with Ron and how I almost
had it before my car quit. He just smiled and said, “You’ll have your Sporty
one day!” He gave me just the right amount of support and inspiration that I
needed.
A year later I found myself at Chandler HD and I was talking with salesman
Scott. I described the EXACT Sportster that I was looking for. It had to be
a 2004 two-tone black and blue 1200 Custom and I preferred used with low
miles. Being that the ‘04’s had just been released, I thought to myself
“Yeah, that’ll happen!” About 3 months later, Scott called me out of nowhere
to say, “I have your Sportster”. I couldn’t believe it!
Ron and I went to look at it that night and when we got there another woman
was out test riding it. We just knew she would buy it, but it turned out she
wanted a white one instead. So Ron and I test rode it and Sporty went home
with us! How exciting that was! Ron was right; I would have my Sporty one
day!
I immediately enrolled in the T.E.A.M. Arizona Basic Rider course and
obtained my Motorcycle endorsement. What an accomplishment that was for me!
In 2004, I joined the Foothills H.O.G. Chapter and L.O.H. and met the
greatest people! It was nice to meet other people who loved riding a Harley
as much as I did.
My most memorable ride was with the Chapter up to Williams in 2004. Since
that was my first “big ride”, I really had to push myself to the limits but
once I got over the anxiety and started building confidence on my bike,
nothing can hold me back!
Now two years and 9,000 miles later, my next big goal is to ride to Sturgis.
I believe that when you have the support and inspiration from the people in
your life that matter, anything is possible!

Randi
Abbott - January 2006
Birthday – April
5th
Birthplace: I was born in Kellogg, Idaho. The area is known as the
Silver Valley and was a great place to grow up. I also lived in
Salina, Kansas.
About my family: I have been married to Gary since we were
youngsters! People who know us know that we are complete opposites.
We have two awesome kids, Alysha is 17, and Brian who is 14. I love
being a wife and mother. We also have one crabby cat and our newest
edition to the family is a friendly puppy, named Harley of course.
My job: I am the Underwriting Manager for a mortgage banker. I have
been in the mortgage business for 14 years. It’s challenging and
rewarding and I have made some very good friends along the way (and
a few enemy’s when the loan is declined.).
What else do I do?: I enjoy participating and watching sports, a
quiet corner with a great suspenseful book, crocheting, shopping,
movies, and relaxing on the beach. I absolutely love riding – that’s
my most favorite!
My goals: To make it though this year as the Activities Officer!
Just kidding! I would like to see if I could endure an Iron-butt
ride.
How long have I been interested in motorcycles?: I was born that
way. I had a Yamaha YZ80 before I had a bicycle. It helped that my
grandfather owned a Yamaha/Honda shop and we were always out on the
bikes. Gary bought his first bike about a year after we were
married. Since we had little kids I decided to keep off the bikes
until they were a little bigger. In May of 2003 I decided they were
bigger!
Rider/Passenger and what kind of bike: I am a rider. I ride a 2004
Low Rider. You can’t miss it – it’s purple and loud. Of course there
are times I do miss riding behind Gary and on occasion I can be
spotted on his 2005 Road King.
What kind of bikes have you ridden on or owned: My first bike as an
adult was a 1997 883 Sportster. Gary surprised me and traded it in
for the Low Rider. He’s such a great guy!
How long have I been a member of HOG? Since May 2003. Gary and I
decided our new year’s resolution for 2005 would be to attend 5
rides to see if we fit in or if we liked it. Well…we did 48 rides in
2005 and I think we fit in okay.
My favorite ride: Oh Gosh! That’s hard! I have several: Yarnell Hill
was my first experience on a twisty road. I had smile on my face for
days I had so much fun! Then there’s Coronado Trail, Salt River
Canyon, or anything long distance.
Something interesting about myself: When I was 17 I took the 6
cylinder motor out of my 1974 Nova and replaced it with a 350 that I
built myself. I damaged a lot of male egos while racing that car on
the weekends.

Sherrie
Street - December 2005
Birthday month: April 17th Lawton, Oklahoma (Fortsille)
Career: I am a Surgical Scrub Tech I have been in the medical field
in some form or another for 20 some odd years. I am currently working for
Arizona Orthopedic Surgical hospital.
Goals: To be the best grandma ever.
Interested in bikes: My husband has talked about buying a Harley for
years and it just kind of went in one ear and out the other, so finally one
day he said lets go look at bikes, I thought what could it hurt, well
needles to say we went home the last day in April with a new 2005 Black
Cherry Heritage Softtail I have to say this bike is beautiful. I really
didn't think I would ride that much it was more for him to go back and forth
to work with the price of gas. Well the next weekend he took me for a ride
and I was hooked but needed more comfort. We put 5 thousand miles on the
Heritage in about 4 months. So we decided to look at the Ultra Classic we
thought about trading in the Heritage yeah right I told him I wanted to
learn to ride. Needles to say we still have The Heritage and the Ultra and I
now have my license. Learning to ride again has been fun.
Hog Member: Since May 2005
Favorite ride: Weekend ride to Bisbee
Interesting about me: I have been married for 24 years I am the
mother of three boys and a grandmother of five, 2 grandsons and 3
granddaughters whom I adore. After spending 20 years in Flagstaff, Dennis
and I decided to move back to the valley where it was warm and we could be
closer to our children. I enjoy crocheting, traveling, and most of all
whether being a passenger or a rider I love Harleys, and all the great
people we have met.
Shirley
Miller - October 2005
Name: Hi, my name is Shirley Miller, Alias,
Shir, Nana or Shirl) .
My birthday: is April 22, a true Taurus. I was
born and raised in Redondo Beach, California, a surfer girl on the
beach growing up.
Family: Married at 18, two children, a boy John, also a
Harley rider and Chapter member, and and a girl Lori, who still
resides in California. I also have 4 great Grandsons. I divorced
after 23 years of marriage and started a whole new life. I Moved to
Arizona in 1992 after my career tanked when my employer filed
bankruptcy, I settled in to becoming an Arizonan pretty quickly. 3
years later, I was diagnosed with life threatening cancer, beat it
and took a hold of life once again. That's when I met Bear, yes, we
met in a bar and Karaoke was one of our favorite past times. A year
later we were married in the Greasewood Flats Chapel, had some rough
spots but mostly some great times and now we are "Bikers" leading
the life we both dreamed of for many years.
You all know my other favorite past time, Salsa, baking and cooking,
that is my passion. Started the business in late 2003 and it has
grown beyond my expectations.
I started my interest in Motor Cycles when I met Bear in 1996, had
ridden "Honda's in a previous life" but when we bought our first
Harley, I was hooked. I keep thinking I would like to ride my own
bike, but I think I'm happier behind Bear taking pictures and
enjoying the view, what a great stress reliever. My favorite ride
ever was San Diego, 2004. Even with the rain, it was awesome, San
Diego is one of my favorite towns, not to mention it included a
visit to my Daughter's house, she actually called me a Biker Bitch
and got away with it.
Not many people know that in a previous life while living in
California, I was a professional Belly Dancer for a short time. It
started out as an exercise and ended up as a job for many events in
Southern California for several years. It was fun, but don't ask for
demos, cause you won't get one. As a cancer survivor, I think I've
done a pretty good job at grabbing all the life I can. The world
only stands still if you sit down and let it, make it spin, there's
a lot to see and do.

Susan Campbell - September 2005
Hi
everyone. My name is Susan M. Campbell. I was born in the biggest
little city in the world, Reno, Nevada, on December 22. Our family
moved from there when I was about three to Orlando, Florida. There
with my sister Gerry, we lived in the best of times there……before
Disney World.
I meet and married my husband,
Roger there while he was stationed at McCoy A.F.B. as a fireman in
1971. Since then, we traveled the world, had four great kids, and
had a lot of fun. We moved to the valley in 1996.
We have three daughters and one son.
Michelle is the oldest who lives back in Memphis, TN. and works for
a large cancer drug company. Then there’s Christina, who lives here
in the valley with her family, her hubby, Christopher and the
grandkids, Ashley and Lindzay. Next is Elaine, with her husband Bill
and their son, JD. And finally Michael, who finally finished college
and is working at Roger’s company….but dreams of being a fireman.
I have worked for the Kyrene School
District now for the past 8 years as an assistant in an extended
resource room with physically and mentally challenged students. I
have to tell you that I love my work…..not that it isn’t challenging
at times, but the rewards are immeasurable, because the kids are the
greatest. How did we get
interested in motorcycles..............I love the sound of the
pipes. Sitting in our house in our old neighborhood, I used to hear
a couple of bikes leaving out in the quiet of the morning and I made
a comment to Roger about the sound. Soon after that time I made a
trip to Texas and came back to find he had been to nearly every
dealership in the valley looking for just the right bike.
One afternoon he said,” Let’s take
a ride” and that’s when we found ourselves at this tiny out of the
way dealership behind Marie Callender’s……and that was the beginning
of the greatest of times. Since then, we’ve had a lot of fun…meeting
and riding with some of the greatest people. I’ve been asked why I
haven’t gotten my own bike….well…..I love being close to Roger and
sharing the freedom we both feel on the bike. There is no greater
place.

My daughter, Alexandra, will be 16 this May and attends Desert Vista High School. She loves performing on stage, is an excellent student, and loves watching Lord of the Rings again, and again and again. Kelly
Longo - February 2005
Name:
Kelly Longo
Birthday: 8/7/67
Birthplace: Dearborn, Michigan
Family: My husband’s name is Mike Longo. I have a wonderful
step-daughter, Melissa, she’s 28, and she lives in Michigan. She has
4 kids: Justen (9), Cassidy (8) & Marissa (5) and Amanda (5). So,
I’m a “very young Grandmother by marriage” (as I chuckle).
Career: I’m a Mortgage Underwriting Manager for a local
mortgage company. I’ve been in the mortgage industry for 20+ years.
I’ve worked all over in Michigan, Texas and now here in Arizona. My
husband and I just moved from Michigan to Arizona in June 2004. The
primary reason was so we could ride more!
Other Activities: In Michigan, my husband and I were very
involved in our local chapter of Rolling Thunder®. This is a
national, non-profit organization that helps Veterans from all wars,
and publicizes the POW-MIA issue. I was on the Board of Directors
for our chapter and I was the Newsletter Editor for 200+ members (a
monthly newsletter). When we re-located to Arizona, I searched for a
local chapter here and the closest one is way up in Colorado (we
would consider starting a local Rolling Thunder® chapter here in
Arizona!) To learn more, please visit www.rollingthunder1.com.
One of my goals in life: To travel (ready for this? …) to
Domegge di Cadore, in the province of Belluno, in northern Italy and
see where my Grandparents grew up (and they still have family
there!). We keep saying we’d like to go – I’m not sure when – but
it’s a goal!
How long have I been interested in motorcycles? I’ve been a
motorcycle enthusiast for 12 years.
I was a passenger for about 7 years and then I purchased my first
bike in 1999, it was a ’97 Harley-Davidson Dyna Convertible. It was
one of the best things I ever did for myself!
I now have a 2000 Harley-Davidson Road King which I love (its
concord purple for all the purple-loving ladies out there!). I’ve
put almost 20,000 miles on this bike. And for all of you that are
interested in this kind of stuff, my bike has a 95 cubic-inch motor
with 102 horsepower and 106 ft. lbs. of torque to the back wheel (my
husband told me to say that – he built the motor and he’s very proud
of it ).
I’ve been a member of HOG as long as we’ve had bikes.
My favorite rides: My absolute favorite ride was when 10 of
us (5 men, 5 women) all rode our own bikes to Milwaukee for
Harley-Davidson’s 100th Anniversary. We rode 2,000 miles in 6 days
with not a drop of rain! The weather was absolutely beautiful –
which is unusual for Michigan weather. We rode from Detroit all the
way up to the Upper Peninsula in Michigan and over to Wisconsin. We
were with great friends and it was a wonderful ride that I’ll never
forget.
Another ride that I will always remember was in May, 2002. This was
our fifth year to Washington DC with all the chapters of Rolling
Thunder®. We always left Michigan a few days before the Memorial Day
Weekend. This time, though, I was deeply involved in the chapter,
and every year the meaning meant more and more to me personally. We
had 70 bikes leave Detroit and we rode through the gorgeous
mountains in Pennsylvania, without a glitch. When we arrived in
Washington DC, there was the best turnout of bikes from around the
country – over 500,000 motorcycles lining the streets of DC – it was
literally awesome. You have to see it to believe it.
This is part of the nationally renowned “Ride to the Wall” where
veterans and motorcycle enthusiasts all “demonstrate” to publicize
the POW-MIA issue. The Vietnam Veterans Memorial is an incredible
sight, and it’s very personal to each one that visits, as to the
meaning.
You asked me to write anything else interesting about myself … I
love to hang out with friends and family and have a good time (I
feel like I’m writing one of those personal ads…) I’m a “social
drinker” and my favorite drinks are Bud Light and Cabo Wabo Tequila
(not together, of course). Cabo Wabo makes the best margaritas! My
favorite times are just relaxing with friends, playing pool, playing
cards or doing “nothing”. Oh, and we like to travel as much as we
can, too.
Thank you for the opportunity for me to put “my life of
motorcycling” down on paper – I’ve never had to do this before, and
it’s nice to reminisce about these and many other rides I’ve been
on.
NOTE: Kelly has recently
moved back to Michigan. We wish her well!

Van Lew - December 2004
Birthday: June 5
Birth Place: Sacramento,
California
Tell us about your family
members, spouse, children and grandchildren: My husband of 26 years is Tom.
We met while in the Navy stationed at an Air Force base in Spain. We have
three children. Jason, our oldest and is married to Holly. Adrienne is an
NAU graduate, now studying to be a firefighter. Jon is our youngest. He will
graduate next year from U of A.
What is your career: I am currently a MMIC and PCB designer. In other words
I use the computer, with a CAD-like program to make VERY small integrated
circuits and then the PCB boards that the MMIC’s and other parts go on to
make a module. I was trained as an electronics technician in the Navy, and
worked at Motorola for 19 years; but I currently work for a small company in
Chandler called US Monolithics. I keep wondering, however, what I’m going to
do when I grow up!
What other extracurricular activities are you interested in: I enjoy
reading, photography and some gardening. I am into family history and
genealogy. We used to hike a lot and have done some backpacking. We also
enjoy 4-wheeling, but now our passion is the motorcycle. Of course I do all
this when NOT working on websites!
What is one of your goals in life: Until last year it was to visit Holland
and meet some of my family there. Since Tom and I did that last March to
celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary, I guess my goal now would be to
retire rich so I can travel more! Like that’s going to happen!
How long have you been interested in motorcycles: Actually only a few years.
I had never been on one until a few years ago when Tom and I decided to take
the beginner course at Team Arizona. I was jazzed when I got my first bike.
Are you a rider or a passenger and on what model of motorcycle. Currently I
am a passenger on Tom’s Electra Glide. I said if I was going to be on the
back seat, it had to be a comfortable one! If we hit the lottery or get all
our kids out of school, I may get my own bike again!
What motorcycles have you owned or ridden on: I owned a Yamaha 650 V-Star
Classic. It was a great handling bike and I was sad to let it go!
How long have you been a member of H.O.G.: I have only been a member of
H.O.G. since September of 2003. We are definitely new to the Harley scene.
Tell us about your favorite ride ever: The ride to San Diego or the Coronado
Trail. Funny, the both involved rain! I didn’t care for the rain, but I
loved the scenery!

members, spouse, children, and grandchildren. I have, 1 girl, 2 boys and 3
grandchildren 1 girl 3 years old and twin boys 6 years old. Danny is husband
# 3 I like to say it took me that long to get it right. We have been married
6 years together 10 and he spoils me rotten.
What is your career? I
work for myself cleaning houses
What other
extracurricular activities are you interested in? I like to do crafts and
gardening. Which I don’t seem to have enough time for so beading is my other
fun pastime
What is one of your goals
in life? Right now I would like to win the power ball and just enjoy life.
How long have you been
interested in motorcycles? Danny has always wanted a Harley he finally got a
Softail Custom 5 years ago. I enjoyed riding with him on it. But I really
enjoyed the Ultra and then he traded in my seat. With that done. I went and
got my own seat. I started out with a 883 Hugger and now have my purple 02
Low Rider. I’ve rode both Dan’s T-Sport and his Deuce, But enjoy mine the
best.
How long have you been a
member of H.O.G.? Since Oct. 2000, I’m a charter member of the Foothills
Tell us about your
favorite ride ever? I’ve been on lots of great rides. My most memorable ride
was with my girlfriend Dee. We took the Beeline up through Payson, Pine and
Strawberry. Across 260 to Camp Verde. On 260 we came to roadwork. We were
stopped and told there is rough road and that a pilot car would lead us
through it. What they failed to say is it was deeply grooved rough road.
Thankfully the shoulder was not grooved. So for 14 miles that is were we
rode on. Dee and I was very grateful for our little bike path. But ever
since we are both a little leery of roadwork.
Please tell about
anything else interesting about yourself. We did not ride with the chapter
when we first joined. It was after I started riding that we went on our
first ride with the group. Since then we have been on a ton of great rides.
The nicest part is the people we have meet and become friends with along
with all the great rides.

children: Kyle 13, Taylor 8, Chandler 7, and Shawna 5.

scrapbook.
One of my goals is to
learn how to ride a motorcycle. I purchased a Sportster 883 this fall and

time, I hang on for dear life on the back of my husband, Forrest, 2003 Road
King.

member for the past year and LOH just as long.
My favorite ride so
far has been the Ante Up Poker run in Camp Verde.

Candace
Door - July 2004
Born June 22nd in
Bennington, Vermont.
I have been married to
my husband Brian for five years in December. We have four grown daughters.
We are also blessed with four grandchildren and a dachshund named Fred who
loves to ride the motorcycle.
I am employed by
Wal-Mart as a scanning specialist. My job is to make sure that customers are
not overcharged. I also ensure that the company is billed correctly by
vendors.
I enjoy motorcycles
and riding with my husband and Fred. I also enjoy the occasional volunteer
work. A goal that I have is to be able to retire comfortably so that we can
travel on our bikes.
I have been a
passenger for as long as I can remember. I wanted to be able to drive into
Milwaukee forth. 100" anniversary, so I got my license at T.E.A.M. AZ a year
before. I practiced riding for a year and I was able to drive into Milwaukee
on opening day. What an experience! I was so overwhelmed that I rode with my
husband the next day. I was happy to be with him and taking pictures (1700).
I did however drive for the rest of the week that we were there.
I now own a 1996 1200
Sportster Custom. I am going to upgrade to a Fatboy in 2005. I have been a
passenger on many different motorcycles, but my favorite will always be the
Ultra Classic. I have been a HOG member since I met my husband in 1998.
My favorite ride is
any ride I am on with my husband.
I have a hard time with large crowds of
people, so I thought volunteering for the LOH secretary position might help
ease this feeling.

Island
Tell us about your family members,
spouse, children, and grandchildren.
I am married to Bill, the Matco tool man.
We've been married for 4 tears and he's the reason I ride my Harley today.
We have 3 grown boys that all still live in California. They are Eric - 22 ,
Brandon - 22 (no, not twins, step brothers) and Tony - 23. Tony has blessed
us with our first grandson, A.J. who is 19 months old. All of which we don't
get to see nearly enough of now that we've moved to the lovely state of AZ..
What is your career?
I am currently the manager of a Business
systems support organization for Philips Semiconductors in Tempe. I have 6
direct reports and get to travel the globe to provide training at time to
our user community. I have been with the company for 20 years and really
like what I do.
What other extracurricular activities
are you interested in?
Along with motorcycling, I love to water
ski and socialize. I enjoy going to the gym and playing racquetball.
What is one of your goals in life?
I want to be wealthy, teach others how to
do it and retire comfortably.
How long have you been interested in
motorcycles?
I have been interested in motorcycles as
long as I have been interested in my husband. That's been about 5 years now.
Our 2nd date was on his 97 Road King. Before that ride, I was terrified of
Motorcycles.
Are you a rider or passenger, and on
what model of motorcycle?
I am a rider most of the time on my 2002
Custom Road King Classic but also love to snuggle as a rider behind my
husband on his 2003 Road Glide.
What motorcycles have you owned or
ridden on?
A very long time ago, I owned and rode a
dirt bike, then many years later came the Harley man and his 97 Road King. I
learned to street ride on that bike while my husband worked Saturdays at the
local Harley dealer in Ca. Now I own my 2003 Custom Road King Classic and
sometimes ride my husband's Road Glide. I really love the music on the Road
Glide.
How long have you been a member of H.O.G.?
I have been a HOG member for 3 years and
involved in LOH just as long.
Tell us about your favorite ride ever?
My most memorable ride was a 10 day ride
with my husband on the back of our 97 Road King. We went through 7 states,
California, Nevada, Utah, Wyoming, Idaho, Montana and Oregon and logged over
3,000 miles on that one trip
Please tell about anything else
interesting about yourself.
I had the pleasure of being involved in the
Livermore, Ca. HOG chapter as a charter member while we lived there. I very
quickly became involved with the LOH organization and then became the LOH
Co-chair. I have many very fond memories of my fellow HOG friends in Ca and
look forward to making many more in our new home here in AZ.
Carisa
Ham - February 2004
I am Carisa Ham, the current LOH officer. I
was born on January 20, many years ago in Chandler. Yes, I’m a true native!
I have a wonderful husband Jon, and three beautiful daughters. Katie 16,
Traeana 11, and Taylor is almost 10 (Taylor made me write that). I am a
federal screener for the Transportation Security Administration, TSA, at the
airport. I am a devout Christian, and attend Friendship Community Church
when I am not at work.
I have owned many motorcycles in my 14
years of riding varying from a little Honda 250 to a Harley Electra Glide.
Currently. I own a 1991 Softail Custom and Jon owns an Electra Glide. I may
be seen on either bike. I have been a member of HOG for about two years, and
an active member of this chapter for several months. I am still trying to
get used to group riding.
My favorite ride so far, was the trip to
Williams for the State Rally last year. Jon and I left our home a day early
and rode to Prescott and hung out at Whiskey Row. The next day we took the
scenic route through Chino Valley and Ashfork to arrive in Williams.
